Alpheus bucephalus is a Pacific snapping shrimp that belongs to the Crinitus species group within the genus Alpheus. Like several other species in the Crinitus species group, it lives in self-fabricated tubes made from filamentous algae and sponges, and from dead coral. For more details, see ABRS (2009):
