Range Description

This species has a wide distribution along the western Atlantic from: Massachusetts and Bermuda down to Santa Catarina in Brazil, including the entire Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea (Holthuis 1991, Tavares 2002, Dall'Occo et al. 2007). The type locality for this species is 'Fish Hawk' Station 873, off Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, USA (4002'N 7057'W) at a depth of 182 m (Holthuis 1991).
