Diagnosis A moderate sized species in the H. pulchellus group (males 42.7-56.4 mm SVL, females 47.2-54.8 mm snout-vent length), characterized by (1) snout rounded in dorsal view and rounded to truncate in lateral view, (2) dorsal skin texture smooth, (3) diameter of disc of the third finger smaller than of the tympanum diameter, (4) tarsal fold low, (5) dorsal color pattern consisting of irregular blotches, (6) dark flanks with pale spots, (7) posterior surfaces of thighs dark, almost without blotches (small pale dots near the cloaca), (8) dorsal surfaces of limbs with white or pale spots.
