Range Description

This species lives in mountainous areas of Namaqualand, north of the Knersvlakte and south of the Orange River, in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. It has not so far been recorded from Namibia, although it is likely to occur there. It is found at 200-1,600 m asl. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) is estimated as 9,000 km2 with an area of occupancy (AOO) of approximately 5% of the EOO (450 km2), estimated based on availability of appropriate habitat (a variety of water bodies) within the EOO, and it is known from around 15 locations.
