Range Description

Muscicapa segregata (split from Asian Brown Flycatcher M. dauurica) is restricted to Sumba, Indonesia. Previously thought to be rather scarce and local, a more recent assessment considered it uncommon and sparse, perhaps rare, although quiet and unobtrusive. The most recent observations confirm that it is widespread in remaining patches of both primary and secondary forest, albeit declining with steady habitat clearance.
