Range Description

This species has a large, discontinuous range extending across Central and South America from Costa Rica to south-east Brazil. It inhabits humid tropical and subtropical evergreen forest, sometimes venturing into forest adge and mature secondary growth, from 475-1850 m. It occurs in many protected areas within its large range, including at least three national parks in Brazil (Fitzpatrick 2004).
