Range Description

Carludovica palmata is a widespread Neotropical species extending from Guatemala south to Bolivia. This taxon is considered naturalized in the Caribbean. Specimens are known from southern Mexico but it is as yet unclear whether the taxon has naturalized here or if these collections mark the northern extent of the species distribution.
