Range Description

This species is distributed in south-central Europe to west and southwestern Turkey and northeast Algeria. It is native to the Balkans, to Mediterranean Europe, Greece, the isle of Crete and the Aegean Islands, all the way to southwest Turkey. Collections from Italy are possibly introduced; material from further west and from North Africa almost certainly represents introductions. No observation in Plaine de Bne (= Annaba, Algeria) after Letourneux in the 19th century (in Battandier and Trabut 1895,http://gdebelair.com/tax/zzad.php#Araceae [accessed 5th August 2013]).
