The charming gerbil is smaller than lesser gerbil. Fur on the upperparts short, dark yellowish brown becoming gradually paler to border of clear yellowish on side. The color of the side not extending onto forelimb. Underparts of the body and upper surface of feet white. Large, conspicuous and white patch on the rump. Tail long, back above and white below, with brush one-third to one-fourth length of tail. Broad band of dark-tipped hairs extending from mystaical area beneath eye to base of ear. The tip of the ear pigmented. Palm and sole hairless, sole not pigmented.
