"Taxonomic Notes: Osteobrama bhimensis was described by Singh and Yazdani (1992) from Ujani wetland on Bhima River in Maharashtra, India. The species is considered as valid by Jayaram (1999) and Yadav (2003). However, the species is remarkably similar to Osteobrama vigorsii, a common species found in this area."
