Range Description

This species is found in the Ganges drainage of India (Kullander et al. 1999); originally described from the northern rivers of Bengal and Bihar, especially the Mahanunda. Records are from the Giri River (Himachal Pradesh) and Nilgiri (Neilgherris or rivers on or around their base; Tamil Nadu). The full distribution of the species, as well as the records from southern India, requires confirmation.
