Range Description

Acyrtops amplicirrus has been found in the western central Atlantic, around the Virgin Islands, Belize and Southern Mexico. It has also been found around Florida, although it is not certain whether this is the same species (Johnson and Greenfield 1983). Its type locality is in the Virgin Islands. Specimens from Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados are also recorded in Fishbase, but these records need to be confirmed.
