"Genus Sphenotrochus Milne Edwards and Haime, 1848 

Diagnosis. Solitary, cuneiform, free; corallum small. Theca imperforate. Costae deeply ridged or reduced to aligned granules. Columella lamellar or papillose.


Type-species: Turbinola crispa Lamarck, 1816, by subsequent designation [Milne Edwards and Haime, 1850]." Cairns 1982, p26.
