Nassophorean ciliates, body usually densely ciliated; kineties closely adjacent; kinetosomes with a proximal and distal cartwheel; cyrtos, typically large, with complete palisade of nematodesmata; synhymenium, if present, beginning in postoral region and extending to lateral left; extrusomes, rod-like when present
