Description of Palliatus

Subspherical spores, suture ridge anteriorly prominent. Spores enveloped in membranous veil, which in immature spores is twisted into 2 cords around the spores. Polar capsules pyriform. Binucleate sporoplasm. Trophozoites disporous; coelozoic in marine fishes. Type species: Palliatus mirabilis Shulman, Kovalyova & Dubina, 1979.
