Range Description

This species is endemic to the coast of Senegal where it is restricted to an area around Dakar, from Ile de Yoff north of the city and south around the Cap Vert Peninsular with its centre at the districts of Ouakam and Anse Bernard. Further populations are reported around Popenguine further south along the coast and around Gore Island off the SE coast of the peninsular (Monteiro et al 2004). The total coast along which this species occurs is projected at approx 80-90 kms, with 5 subpopulations recognised over the area.
