Range Description

This species is endemic to the Cape Verde islands and is restricted to the westerly island of Boavista where it is found at almost all suitable sites around the island, in particular Morro de Areia and Rife de Chaves in the west (20 km2), Praia da Cruz and Baía Teodora in the north-west (24 km2), Derrubado in the north (10 km2) and Baía das Gatas in the north-east (10 km2), (Monteiro et al. 2004). It is known from many small sites around the coastline on the northern half of the island over a distance of 65 km.
