Range Description

Dasypus kappleri has been recorded from Colombia (east of the Andes), Venezuela (south of the Orinoco), Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, and south through the Amazon Basin of Brazil, Ecuador, Peru and northern Bolivia (Pando Department) (Gardner 2005). In Brazil, it occurs eastwards to western Maranho state (Oliveira et al. 2007) and in a large part of the state of Mato Grosso, but has not been recorded from southern Par state.
