Range Description

This species is widespread both in temperate to tropical regions; it is found in Africa and temperate Asia to China, Japan, tropical Asia, the Indian subcontinent and throughout much of Europe and North America.

This taxon is very common in Turkey where it is found in:Edirne: by the river Meri, W of Karpuzlu;Zonguldak: S of Karabk, 250-300 m;Amasya: engel an, 600 m;Nide/Kayseri: Nide to Kayseri, 1,400 m;Erzurum, 1,900 m;Van: Artos Da above Geva, 2,000 m;Antalya: Karagl near Yuva, 1,000 m;Konya: Konya to umra, Kkky, 980 m;Iel: Brcek, 1,350 m;Hakkari: Yksekova, 1,950 m (Davis 1965-1985);Denizli:Ikl Gl,ivril;Kayseri:Altkesek Reglatr,Pnarba; Van:Van Gl; Adana:Seyhan Baraj Gl (Semen 1997); Afyon:Sincanl, Akren village, 1,050 m (Akiek 2003); Isparta:Lake Beyehir shore, 1,000 m (Mutlu 2003); Ankara: between Gdl and Yeilz, around old bridge, Kirmir valley, (N 40 14' 39.2"-E 32 15' 25.2"), 750 m (Eli 2005); Van: around Adakl village, 2,500 m (nal 2007).It is known only one location in Iraq:Lower Mesopotamia, Babylonia (Rechinger 1964).
