Range Description

This species is known from the coasts of western Europe, where it is mainly found on the countries bordering the North Sea. Fauna Europaea (Bank et al. 2006) lists the range as Denmark (mainland), Republic of Ireland (Eire), Great Britain (UK), Netherlands, Belgium, France (mainland), and Germany. The records from Italy (mainland) require confirmation, as there are other species of Assiminea that have recently been separated. Kerney (1999) suggests that Assiminea grayana could be an introduction in Ireland, as it is only found around the Shannon Estuary and the first records were in 1991.
