Centaurea melitensis (Maltese Star Thistle) is a species of annual herb in the family Asteraceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States, Morocco, Western North America, Spain, Italy, Yugoslavia, France, Libya, Algeria, Portugal, Greece, and Tunisia. They have simple, broad leaves and achenes. Individuals can grow to 0.64 m.
