Distribution

Records of this species occuring in Panama cannot be confirmed. Neocomella alata and N. pulchella have at times been synonymised of classed as subspecies which has lead to some confusion. Neocomella alata reportedly occurs throughout the Caribbean Sea (see Miloslavich et al. 2010) and as far South as Venzuela (based on NMNH collections), so may well occur off the Caribbean coast of Panama.
