Range Description

Cylindropuntia imbricata is a wide ranging cactus, occurring in the Mexican states of Aguascalientes, Chihuahua, Coahuila, Durango, Mxico State, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Michoacn, Morelos, Nuevo Len, Oaxaca, Puebla, Quertaro, San Luis Potos, Sonora, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Zacatecas, and Mxico Distrito Federal. In the United States, the species is found in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas (Hernndez et al. 2004). The species is widely distributed and common in the Chihuahua Desert Region (Martnez-Avalos and Jurado 2005, Goettsch and Hernndez 2006). It is found at elevations from 1,600 to 2,400 m asl.
