Platonia esculenta (Bacury) is a species of tree in the family clusoids. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Amapá, Roraima, Tocantins, Amazônia, Maranhao, Pará, Cerrado, Piauí, and South America. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Blue-gray Tanager, Black-throated Mango, Epaulet Oriole, and Guira Tanager. Individuals can grow to 30 m.
