DescriptionErect, hairless perennial herb, up to 150 cm tall, growing from a creeping rhizome. Stems hollow, grooved, sometimes tinged red. Leaves pinnate, up to 30 cm long; leaflets oblong-lanceolate, up to 10 × 2 cm; margin with close-set regular teeth curving over each other as to give an almost scalloped appearance. Flowers in compound umbels with 7-24 rays, greenish-white to yellowish; bracts numerous, linear, up to 2 cm long; bracteoles similar to bracts. Fruit ovate-oblong, c. 2 × 1 mm, reddish-brown when ripe.
