Callopora discreta is an encrusting bryozoan that forms very small irregular patches on offshore coarse shell gravels. The white colonies of C. discreta typically have less than 50 zooids and are expect to be short-lived.

The species has been recorded on very few occasions in British waters. In recent years specimens have been collected from Lundy Island, Bristol Channel, the Gulf of St. Malo and the western end of the English Channel.
