Range Description

O. fistulosa has a predominantly European distribution, extending beyond the region only into North Africa, the Middle East and the Caucasus. It occurs throughout much of central and southern Europe and throughout much of the Mediterranean Basin. In the east Mediterranean it is a very rare plant occurring at its easternmost range in the border of Iran and Iraq (Rechinger 1987).
