Range Description

This species can be found in the Pacific Coast of Mexico (including the Gulf of California), Central and South America. It can be found from Baja California to mainland Ecuador, including Galapagos, Socorro, Cocos, Malpelo, and Revillagigedos islands (Deichmann 1958), although some reports include this species in northern Peru (Islas de Lobos de Afuera) (Hooker et al. 2005) in its geographical distribution. It is found at depths from shallow subtidal to 39 m (Deichmann 1958, Maluf 1991).
