Mimosa somnians is a species of shrub in the family legumes. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Distrito Federal, Minas Gerais, SãO Paulo, Amazônia, Ceará, Mexico, Paraná, Pará, Amapá, Tocantins, Bahia, Cerrado, Pernambuco, Mato Grosso, Caatinga, Maranhao, ParaíBa, Piauí, GoiáS, and Mato Grosso Do Sul. They have broad leaves and achenes.
