Range Description

This species is an Indian endemic with a distribution in Orissa and Andhara Pradesh. Its distribution roughly corresponds to the area of the Eastern Ghats. It is thought to occur in Bihar (Sanjappa 1992) but its presence there is unconfirmed. Specimens collected from 1874 to 1911 from 'The Central Provinces' of India are thought to correspond to locations in present day Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, however, the presence of the species here, also remains uncertain. In addition a specimen was recorded, in 1902, from Coimbatore inTamil Nadu, but no recent records were found for this area. Khanna et al.(2005) also list its distribution as Bastar and Surguja in Chhattisgarh.
