Description of Ministeria marisola

Cells are spherical, 2-3.5 microns in diameter and have very fine stiff arms radiating out from the cell. The arms vary in length (usually 2-3 times the cell diameter) but are all of the same length on a single cell. Cells were observed to ingest bacteria which stick to the cell surface. Two pseudopodia grow out on either side of the bacterium, meet together, and then contract back pushing the bacterium into the cell.
