Cells anteriorly broader than posterior, with narrow or broad aspect and with short tail; rod-shaped extrusomes located at margins of cells but more at the poles; anteriuor flagellum about the same length as the cell, posterior flagellum up to twice the length of the cell; chloroplasts numerous and near cell surface; common in acidic freshwater habitats such as bogs.
