Biology
Habitat: Swampy to mesic, remnant, re-grown and even disturbed wooded areas, also edges of fens, ponds and streams. Nests are in decomposing wood and hollow plant stems.
Natural History: C. laeviuscula nests near the ground, most often in a moist, decomposing stump or log, but forages mostly above ground on plants and in tree canopies, traveling in columns up and down tree trunks for access. Sexuals are reared in early summer.
