Morphology: Dorsal spines (total): 13 - 14; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9 - 10; Anal spines: 2 - 2; Anal soft rays: 9 - 9; Vertebrae: 27 - 27. Head, body and fins dark; sides of the body with numerous narrow light contrasting longitudinal strips, running to the dorsal and caudal fins. Pectoral fin with no long, threadlike upper ray; inner side is dark, without the large light longitudinal patches on the central part of the fin and has no alternating dark and light longitudinal strips (Ref. 41472).
