Inhabits clear waters near the surface of upland rivers and streams (Ref. 12693), including peat areas (Ref. 57235). Feeds mostly on exogenous insects, as well as some crustaceans and algae. Generally prefers a depth of about 5 m. Rarely seen in markets (Ref. 12693).
