Morphology: Dorsal spines (total): 9 - 9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11 - 11; Anal spines: 3 - 3; Anal soft rays: 10 - 10; Vertebrae: 25 - 25. Terminal phase body color: body is pinkish red, abdomen silvery; lower two-thirds of dorsal fin pale gray-violet. With five to six predorsal scales; two cheek scale rows behind eye; three below eye. No scaly sheath at bases of dorsal and anal fins. Scales large.
