Occurs in coastal and inner reef habitats to about 20 m depth (Ref. 48636). Inhabits coral reefs (Ref. 9710). Exhibits sexual dimorphism. Juveniles usually found solitary and adults occasionally in pairs (Ref. 48636). Oviparous (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhesive (Ref. 205).
