Found inshore and offshore (Ref. 34290). Juvenile fish migrate away from the shore after spending their larval stage in shallow areas (Ref. 33811). Adults stay near the bottom during the day and near the surface at night (Ref. 34291). Feeds on zooplankton (Ref. 13624) and surface insects (Ref. 34291). Rarely reaching a length greater than 8 cm SL (Ref. 34290). Also caught with dip nets (Ref. 4967).
