Description:
Test of the difflugiid amoeba, Lesquereusia modesta (Rhumbler, 1895).The test is composed of curved siliceous plates with interspersed quartz particles embedded in an organic matrix (sulfomucin complexed with proteins).The body of the test is more somewhat laterally compressed. The siliceous plates of this species are more irregular than those of L. epistomium and L. spiralis.Collected from a freshwater pond near Boise, Idaho.Brightfield.
