Trapping and tagging Asian giant hornets 20210911-APHIS-SJH-0137 (51532284455)
Description:
Description: Washington State Department of Agriculture and USDA surveyors have been diligently trapping, tagging and tracking live Asian giant hornets (AGH) to their nests to eradicate them. Pictured above are several AGH combs in a tree cavity. Agriculture officials had vacuumed, netted, or otherwise contained a majority of the adult hornets before this picture was taken, but some capped cells containing pupae are visible in the combs after cutting the tree open on Sept. 11, 2021.
