The temperature experienced along the way is superimposed to the depth profile. A is the Scotian Shelf, B represents the edge of the Scotian Shelf, C represents the exit of the Laurentian Channel (open ocean), D represents the area after C, which includes the Gulf Stream and E represents the Sargasso Sea.
