Description: English: Although common in mountain meadows, meadow barely inhabits mountain big sagebrush steppe mainly in disturbed settings, such as long two track roads. In contrast to its lower elevation close relative, foxtail barely (Hordeum jubatum), meadow foxtail has a spike that remain erect and lemma and glume awns that are usually much shorter than 3 cm.
