Slo.: oklepasti kamnokre - Habitat: alpine grassland, close to a snow valley, almost flat terrain, full sun; calcareous, partly acid ground, average precipitation ~ 3.000 mm/year, average temperature 0-2 deg/C, elevation 1.970 m (6.450 feet), alpine phytogeographical region.Substratum: soil.Comment: Saxifraga androsacea is a tiny plant, actually not easy to spot. In addition it is not common although broadly distributed all over the Alps and many other European high mountains. Hence it is not frequently encountered.
