Juniperus communis (Alpen Wacholder) is a species of shrub in the family Cupressaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Canada, Alaska, Eastern North America, Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon, northern hemisphere, North America, The Contiguous United States, Greenland, Western North America, and United States. They have simple, acicular (needle-like) leaves, yellow flowers, and fleshy fruit. Individuals can grow to 6 m.
