Alisma plantago-aquatica (Common Water Plantain) is a species of perennial herb in the family Alismataceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They have simple, broad leaves and white flowers. Flowers are visited by Eristalis pertinax, Lejops lineatus, marmalade hoverfly, and Platycheirus albimanus. Individuals can grow to 3 feet.
