Aloe vera (Barbados Aloe) is a species of perennial herb in the family Asphodelaceae. They are succulent plants. They have a self-supporting growth form. They have simple, broad leaves and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Zosterops lateralis, Apis mellifera, Bombus sonorus, and Xylocopa pubescens.
