Cephalanthus occidentalis (Common Buttonbush) is a species of shrub in the family Rubiaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to North America, United States, Canada, Western North America, The Contiguous United States, and Eastern North America. They have simple, broad leaves and white flowers. Flowers are visited by queen, Vanessa virginiensis, Eastern Tiger Swallowtail, and Bombus griseocollis. Individuals can grow to 15 feet.
