Description

Shrub or small evergreen tree. All parts glabrous. Leaves opposite, simple, narrowly elliptic, up to 10 cm long, shiny green, leathery; domatia absent; stipules ovate, 2-5 mm long, falling early. Flowers in pendunculate, branched, axillary heads; corolla c. 7 mm long, creamy-white; lobes reflexed. Fruit spherical, black when ripe, crowned with the remains of the calyx.
