They are native to Maranhao, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Mata Atlântica, Rio Grande Do Sul, Sergipe, Pernambuco, Cerrado, Ceará, Minas Gerais, Bahia, Alagoas, Paraná, Mato Grosso, ParaíBa, Espirito Santo, Tocantins, SãO Paulo, Santa Catarina, Caatinga, Piauí, GoiáS, Pampa, and Rio Grande Do Norte. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Thorybes dorantes, Long-tailed Skipper, Dielis dorsata, and Agapostemon splendens. Individuals can grow to 0.12 m.
