Phleum pratense (Timothy) is a species of perennial grass in the family true grasses. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to North America, Eastern North America, and South America. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by green blowfly, common horse fly, Hylemya variata, and Common Eastern Bumblebee. Individuals can grow to 125.9 cm.
